How LSN Uses Your Personal Information

This policy covers how LSN treats personal information that LSN collects and receives, including information related to your use of the LSNSJ.com web site. LSN collects personal information when you register with LSN and when you use the LSNSJ.com web site.

When you register on LSNSJ.com, we ask for information such as your name, email address, birth date, gender, ZIP code, and personal interests. When you register with LSN and sign in to our LSNSJ.com web site, you are not anonymous to us.

LSN collects information about your transactions with us. LSNSJ.com automatically receives and records information from your computer and browser, including your IP address and cookie information. LSN uses information for the following general purposes: to customize the content you see, fulfill your requests for assistance in using the LSNSJ.com web site, improve our services, contact you, and conduct research for internal LSN use.

Children

We are sensitive to parents' concerns about the collection of personal information from children. As such, we will not knowingly collect personal information from children age 17 and under. Parents (including legal guardians) of children that registered on LSNSJ.com in violation of the Terms of Service who wish to terminate their child's membership may use their child's user name and password to gain direct access to the account and select to terminate the child's membership. Alternatively, a parent of a membership-ineligible child may send an email to LSN_Moderators@Yahoo.com that includes the parent's name, address, telephone and email address, in addition to the child's name and, if available, the child's email address as registered on LSNSJ.com, plus the child's date of birth. We will then terminate the child's account but will notify the child of the termination request via email and will identify the name, address and email address of the person making the request.

 

INFORMATION SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

 

LSN does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated organizations except to provide services you've requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

• We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
• We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of LSN's terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.
• We transfer information about you if LSN is acquired by or merged with another organization. In this event, LSN will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

REVIEWING, EDITING AND DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION AND PREFERENCES

You can edit your LSNSJ.com Member Profile at any time To access the personal information that you have provided on LSNSJ.com, to correct factual errors in such information, to update your interests, preferences or other portions of your Member profile, to remove information from your Member profile, please log in to the LSNSJ.com web site with your LSNSJ.com Member Nickname and Password and go to the Edit Profile section. To delete your LSNSJ.com membership account, click on “Unregister” in the Edit Profile section.

We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to LSN and LSNSJ.com, such as service announcements, administrative messages and the LSN Upcoming Events Newsletter, that are considered part of your LSN account, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them.

 

CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY

We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect personal information about you.

We conduct the collection, management, maintenance and storage of user information in a secure and commercially reasonable manner using acceptable industry standards of security technology and practices (such as electronic security systems and password protections) to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of personal information. We also request that our operational service providers take such precautions. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our online services, and you do so at your own risk.

Once we receive your transmission, we use reasonable efforts to ensure that collected personal information is secure and not readily accessible to unapproved individuals or third parties. We limit access to personal information about you to LSN personnel who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide services to you.
